The Hill Youth Centre, Brackets and Jam and KCAT are working in partnership to bring you the 3rd Kariong Sessions,

Skate Skoot and BMX Comp.

We are looking for young people interested in organising the event with the assistance of staff at The Hill Youth Centre. Do you have any ideas or suggestions on how the comp should be run, improvements we could make

or just want to be involved? We are also looking for young people interested in judging events. We will be holding  meetings at The Hill Youth Centre. If you would like to be involved please call Miche!le on 4304 7039.

Kariong Community Action Team (KCAT) The Kariong Community Action Team is a group of local residents and representatives from government and community based agencies who are working together in partnership to address drug and alcohol issues in the Kariong area.

As an endorsed Community Drug Action Team (CDAT)  ; the Kariong Community Action Team supports strategies which will raise awareness and aim to address the impact of ' drug and alcohol misuse for individuals, families and the community. A diverse range of activities aimed at reducing drug and alcohol related harm in the local area will be implemented by KCAT.

Yogaways New courses commence the week beginning Monday 31 January 2011.

Offering special six week beginners courses in Hatha a gentle style, Ashtanga a dynamic flowing style and kundalini yoga.

Progressive courses for those with some Yoga experience.

We also offer Pre-Natal courses and Birth preparation workshops.

KIds Yoga classes during the school terms, corporate sessions, yoga workshops and special musical events.

Our studio is a dedicated Yoga space, carpeted, air-conditioned with plenty of natural light and ventilation.  Our teachers are dedicated too the trans-formative qualities of yoga and its benefits for everyone regardless of age, gender or level of fitness or experience.

Attracting hundreds of entries from all across the country, the Australian Event Awards is a celebration of the many different types of events that Australians love and support, from sporting grand finals and arts and cultural festivals, to charity community events and business conferences.

This year, once again, Peats Ridge was heralded as one of Australia’s most outstanding and innovative events, winning the ‘Best Achievement In Sustainability Award’, one of the four key awards in the ceremony. This is the second year in a row the Festival has won this award and it is added to the long list of other awards Peats Ridge has won for sustainability since it’s inception in 2004

Introduction

Once again I take great pleasure in stating that Brackets & Jam Central Coast Inc. has had a good year with positive outcomes for the Central Coast community as well as for the organisation. It has not been a smooth ride with a high level of administration being required to support the continuous increase in activity undertaken in the past year including the cessation of our Newcastle activities, the interest shown in replicating Brackets in Victoria and the highest yet level of activity in other community events across the region.

Due to a very busy week for many Arts Barn people we have postponed the next meeting - it will now take place on Tuesday 17th at 7.00 instead of Wednesday the 9th. Hope to see many that attended the first meeting plus a few more people who couldn't make it last time.

B&J are about to kick off another exciting project to put together a portable stage set up that can be used at outside events.

The project involves converting an existing old car trailer into a fully functional event stage set up. Once built the stage will be able to be towed and easily erected by two people to provide a stage approximately 4m x 7.2m wide, complete with cover. The stage will then be yet another asset we can provide to support local outside events, along with our sound and lighting equipment.

If you are an engineering or metal-working type and would like to get involved in this exciting project, we are currently putting together a team to get this idea moving.
