The Jenny Marie Lang Trio - Jenny Marie Lang - Adam Lang - Kathryn Morrison
Jenn y Marie Lang
Singer/Instrumentalist/Songwriter Jenny Marie Lang has captivated audiences with her soulful voice and sensual presence, having made a name for herself on the blues & roots scene around the country. Jenny Marie Lang is "one of the hottest female blues voices". - The Drum Media Australia's leading music street press. But it's not only her unaffected vocal style alone which has grabbed the attention of audiences but her amazing command of so many instruments that sets her apart from the rest. Whether it's the no holds barred attitude on electric slide or the subtle finger picking on her grandmother's 1930's Victor Cadet, JML's unique sound resonates with her listeners.
Jenny has supported & performed alongside the cream of Australia's live performers including The Whitlams, Paul Mac, Diesel, Wendy Matthews, Richard Clapton, The Mighty Reapers, Bill Chambers, the incredible Ray Beadle, Cold Chisel's Steve Prestwich, and the amazing Jeff Lang. Jenny also supported Bob Brozman (USA), Kevin Welch & Steve Seskin. Country great Kenny Rogers recently toured Australia, with Jenny performing in Felicity Urquhart's Trio as the support. Felicity with Jenny in her Band also supported Sheryl Crow & John Melencamp shows at A Day On The Green - Bimbadgen Estate. Jenny enjoys a reputation in the industry not only as a dynamic solo performer but as the powerful lead singer in the JML Band. Jenny out front on lead vocals, slide guitar (electric and acoustic), lap steel, mandolin & banjo is backed by her super-band consisting of Jack Evans - Guitar and backing vocals (3 Piece Suite, Steve Prestwich Band), Vito Portolesi (The Mighty Reapers) Antero Ceschin (Champion of the Sydney Chromatic Harmonica Championships) - Drums and backing vocals (Leonardo's Bride, The Mighty Reapers).
Jenny's music is not restricted by genre, embracing elements of soul, alternative country, blues, jazz, funk, and modern r'n'b. Her debut CD Not This Time is very much a culmination of all these styles, as is her dynamic and powerful live show. Whilst drawing on these traditions, the sound is very modern & contemporary, and its mellow grooves are the perfect underlay for Jenny's sensuous and evocative vocals. "If there's any justice in this World, you'll be hearing a lot more from this young Lady". "Absolutely top notch Australian talent". - Doug Mulray
